How to assess foundations

In the new tender specification of the new framework agreement with the NCG (Vraagspecificatie - Inspectie, Beoordeling en Beoordelingsrapport v2.0, d.d. December 13th 2024), an appendix M3 is added which describes rules around assessment of foundations. This document is the basis for our standard geotechnical assessment: Instructieregels omgang funderingen NCG. Based on that document, the 2 flowcharts below have been set up which can be used for the assessment of the foundation.

Workflow geotechnical assessment.

The assessment of the foundation includes 2 checks: A liquefaction check and a damage check. The liquefaction check can be performed by checking the NEN webtool. For the damage check, the second flowchart can be followed.

If the standard workflow does not lead to a concluded assessment, contact your Lead Engineer. Together with the Projectleader and the NCG, an alternative assessment will be decided upon.
